PLAYING BOTH ENDS TOWARDS THE MIDDLE

The piece was written with the idea of finding a musical form in which the two string instruments would be sufficient in themselves but at the same time would exhaust their entire range of sound possibilities. I decided to think of the two strings as one long twine which continually shreds, becomes dense and merges together again and whose spliced ends are made to play against one another. In spite of this idea the piece should be free from any concrete “pictures” and remain just music.
